“…neither count I my life dear unto my self,…”

My goal in life is to get to the point at which Paul was in this verse 24 out of chapter 20 of Acts.  Neither do I want to count my life dear unto my self.

This verse helps me to understand even more when Jesus had a discourse about being His true disciple, and that was in my words, when you deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Him.  Loving not your own life so much, that you’re able to complete the mission God has given you with joy.

I understand now why it is important that I not get carried away with the cares of this world.  Worrying if I might earn enough, worrying that I might be made ashamed if I can not take care of my family the way the world says I should.  Worrying about keeping up with every Tom, Dick and Harry.  When I get to the point where I don’t count “my life dear unto my self”, then I’ll be able to truly serve God with joy.

Do you count your life dear?

Wisdom…

Continue to seek wisdom in all you do.  Whatever you do in life be it move from one career to another, or whom your choice in spouse may be, or any major purchases such as a home, car, or business investment.  Seek the Lord, and he will lead and guide you in the best direction.

He may say no.  He may say yes.  He also may say wait.

Proverbs 2:2-4 says, “Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight and understanding.  Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure.”

I like that.  See when we’ve lost some money, and a significant amount of money to us, we will turn our homes upside down, check bank statements 10 times or more looking for where our misplaced dollars have went.  That is how we are to seek God for wisdom.  Verse 6 says, “For the Lord Grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Seek the Lord, and Be wise.
