He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Asking my self what shall I peel away from my life daily in order to make this scripture a reality in my life?
What do I need to stop doing that is getting in the way of what God desires for my life?
1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
It is time we begin to live and walk this word out. If we claim to believe that Jesus called us out of darkness into His marvelous light, then we ought to stand out. Stand out in how we live, how we work, how we interact with others. We ought to stand out in how we face difficulties, how we accept accomplishments, how we marry, how we raise children. Every moment of our lives, we should “shew forth the praises of Him…”
Him, Jesus, whom has given his very all for us. Him who took the brunt of sin, him who was bruised, beaten and battered. Him who was strung up on a cross, humiliated, demonized, traded in for a murderer. Him who did no wrong, but spoke not a word for his defense. Him who while hanging on the cross still sought to forgive those who put him there. Him who eventually died, but in a few short days rose again from the dead, in bodily form, with holes in his hands and feet to testify of where he had been.
He still sits with all power in his hand, he reigns and we still fear to live his way? Live His word? Why? Do we fear the humiliation he faced? Why? Do we fear floggings and beatings as he received? Do we fear no more job promotions, being black balled, being labeled different from the norm?
Face your fear and love. For the scripture teaches,
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Instead of being afraid, tap into the power of God, instead of being timid, love with out hesitation or reservation. Do everything you do for the glory of God. So are you ready? Will you accept the challenge? Do what my “Big Mama” always told me to do, dare to be different.
