A proverb a day: Proverbs 30:10 -Slander gets you no where.

“Never slander a person to his employer. If you do, the person will curse you, and you will pay for it.” Proverbs 30:10 NLT
I think in the course of our living we for the most part are trying to make ourselves look better. Getting degrees, big homes, fancy cars, better positions in life. But the worst thing you could do is gain these wonderful positions in life by someone else’s downfall.
Just some advice. If it is not life or death, keep your mouth shut, you’ll get further ahead in the long run.
Be wise.
A proverb a day: Proverbs 28:20 -Stick to it to be blessed.

“A faithful man shall abound with many blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” Proverbs 28:20 KJV
I love the way my son at age 4 defines faithful. He says and I quote: “Faithful means to stick to it!” Such a simple way to explain a concept that many adults have a hard time acting out in their lives. To be faithful really “means to stick to it”. It means we stick to the mate we have chosen in marraige. To stick to the job we have begun. To stick to what we have started until its completion. Simple concept, but not easy excecution.
Many excuses are used for not being faithful. I don’t have the time. I don’t have the help I need. I don’t have the money. I think it’s just time for a change. The common thread I see sewn through excuses is “I”. “I” I believe is the root of it all, for when you really contemplate your level of faithfulness in any area, and where you see your faith points lacking is when you see yourself getting in the way.
Selfishness is really what keeps people from being faithful. It becomes an all about them thing. If it is not pleasing to them to continue, then they give themselves an out, but to be blessed in riches, in health, in relationships a person must remain faithful. And know that sometimes things don’t happen over night.
Be wise.
A proverb a day: Proverbs 20:13-How to have plenty
Posted by Lance Lawshe in Bible, Inspirational, Work on December 20, 2008
“If you love sleep, you will end in poverty. Keep your eyes open and there will be plenty to eat!” Provebs 20:13 NLT
So many people are trying just to keep there heads above water, and stay away from poverty, but then there are some that are not even trying. Let me encourage the latter.
I want to encourage those that love sleep, not to. Not saying rest is not acceptable, but too much sleep will leave you with nothing to eat. I guess I am trying to be nice, but I might as well just say it. DON’T BE LAZY!! If you want to eat, you must work.
A proverb a day: Proverbs 18:9- Lazy people are destructive

“A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things.” Proverbs 18:9 NLT
I think the proverb itself is all that need be said.
A proverb a day: Proverbs 16:3–Key to Success

I have found the key to success. So many people seek to succeed in life, and many have various ways upon looking at what success really is. The proverb of the day will solve everyone’s dilemma on becoming the most successful in whatever area of life the see fit.
“Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed.” -Proverbs 16:3 NLT
You think to yourself, “..is it really that easy…” Well I would encourage you to believe it to be so. For when you begin to do what you do for the Lord, you hold your standards of work higher. You have a sense of excellence that God deserves that consists in your work. You begin to be better prepared, for you don’t want to dissappoint our wonderful Lord. By doing this your quality of work gets better, employers begin to recognize your great work ethic. Sales begin to come in, because your customers see how well you know your stuff. Your presentations are excellent because you’ve taken the time to prepare. The list goes on.
When you take the time out to do all that you do for the Lord, he can’t help but to make you a success.
Keep working, but keep working for God.
