A proverb a day: Proverbs 31:4-7 -Wisdom on drinking
Posted by Lance Lawshe in Bible, Inspirational, Toledo on December 31, 2008
Many people try to find justification for drinking when they say, “Jesus turned the water into wine.” And though he did, I don’t think he meant to give excuse to drunkeness.
On today I find this a fitting proverb. A day that many people will celebrate the new year to come and forget about all past failures of 2008. Just remember after reading this proverb to take head and celebrate safely.
“And it is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave liquor. For if they drink, they may forget their duties and be unable to give justice to those who are oppressed. Liquor is for the dying, and wine for those in deep depression. Let them drink to forget their poverty and remember their troubles no more.” Proverbs 31:4-7 NLT
Are you dying?
Are you in deep depression?
Be wise.
